About Not Quite Dreaming
A Brief Overview ~
Not Quite Dreaming (NQD) follows a rather strange story about a boy named Tom (or Thom). Between ridiculous characters he meets and odd places he travels to, it all almost seems like a dream. Among the more colorful personalities Tom meets are the Pirate Doctor, a man forced to follow in the footsteps of both his parents, and the Box, a small Box who claims to hold Thom's repressed emotions, as well as several other characters sure to incur copyright lawsuits.
A Brief History ~
I started drawing this comic during Sophomore year of high school (about 2001), using a drawing book I received from an art class I was failing. I initially never had plans for the comic, and just showed it to friends at school. Around the end of '02, I started posting the pencil pages on a friends' website. In '04, I decided to get my own website and traced the pencil pages with hotel pens. After about a year at that site, I discovered the name I was using for the website, and for this comic, was essentially illegal (sorry NyQuil), so I created 515comics.com and changed the name of the comic from NyQuil Dreams to Not Quite Dreaming. The initials are the same, and the title still makes sense. Way to go, me!
